The 2012 Whole Grain Summit: From Theory to Practice is an event to convene scientist, business, and health professionals from around the world to examine the latest research and progress on whole grains, dietary fiber and functional grain components. Sylvia Escott-Stump, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics President and Roger Clemens, IFT President, will be delivering the opening keynote address to highlight the importance of both Food Technologists and Health Professionals in creating a healthier food environment for all. Topics include whole grain content labeling, a coordinated research strategy, business & economic opportunities in whole grains, and a view of the consumer landscape. This is an effort to bring together the various sectors and disciplines focusing on grain-based foods. It is the organizers goal that outcomes from this event will address issues needed to allow healthier grain-based foods to more readily flow into the supply chain for easier access by the consumer.
The Summit is designed to provide an opportunity for you to bring your voice and to share your view of the research, regulatory, and/or consumer landscape as it relates to whole grains. Don’t miss this opportunity to share your knowledge, expertise, and experience. We all have much to learn from one another as- all of us knows more than any of us.top

MS in Diabetes Education and Management

Teachers College Columbia University
Teachers College Columbia University offers a Master of Science in Diabetes Education and Management. This is an interdisciplinary program, open to anyone who is eligible for the CDE. ABCs of Diabetes Education

Offered by the American Association of Diabetes Educators 9 hours CE credit
ABCs of Diabetes Education is a self-paced, six-module online, knowledge-based course that focuses on the essential knowledge and skills needed by non-diabetes educator clinicians who want to enhance their ability to work with diabetes patients. Entry-level nurses, dietitians, and generalist pharmacists should consider this interactive course as one of the first steps toward becoming a diabetes educator.

Discounted AADE member price is $295, non-member price is $345. A statement of credit will be issued immediately upon successful completion of the course.
