Tomato Basil Hummus with Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chickpeas/garbanzo beans, canned
  • 4 Tbsp tahini or sesame butter
  • 1 red tomato
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 18 slices whole wheat baguette, toasted

 

Directions:

  1. Chop the tomatoes.
  2. Mince the garlic.
  3. Drain the chickpeas/garbanzo beans.
  4. Mix in food processor or blender, all ingredients together except the baguette.
  5. Bake the baguette slices in oven at 400F for around 10 minutes or until toasted.
  6. Serve hummus on toasted baguette slices.
