Sweet Rice with Milk

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup white rice dry, rinsed
  • 4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp orange peel zest
  • 6 ½ oz evaporated milk, non fat/skim
  • 8 tsp sugar substitute (sucralose - Splenda - or other favorite)
  • ½ cup milk, non fat
  • 1 tbsp raisins, seedless
  • 4 tsp cinnamon, ground (2 tsp to garnish)

Directions: 

  1. Cook the rice with the water and the orange peel.

  2. When the rice is cooked, add the evaporated milk, the sweetener, the non fat milk and 2 tsp cinnanmon.

  3. Add the raisins.

  4. Boil for 15 minutes and remove from the heat.

  5. Let it cool down to serve.

Makes 6 servings.
