Case Study: Type 1 Diabetes and the Use of Supplements: Flaxseed Oil and Green Tea

Abstract

Ten years ago it was taboo for patients with diabetes to take any alternative supplements. The fact that many individuals were already incorporating them did not seem to matter, that is, until the term “complementary medicine” was added to the healthcare lexicon. Once that occurred, the doors swung open, merging the worlds of natural and mainstream medicine. And if you all pardon the pun, care for patients with diabetes was quite “naturally” affected.
